where is mintmark on morgans?

I looked over the prices for old morgans. basically the carson city ones command the big prices. but how do you know which are cc? I just looked through a bunch of old ones someone had and had no clue how to tell which was a cc if any.

Mint mark is located on the reverse side at 6 o'clock or directly under tail feathers. Should show cc.

From 1878 to 1921 Morgan Dollars were struck at five different mints:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />PHILADELPHIA ..... "The Mother Mint" where all dies were made, produced a cascade of brilliant, sparkling silver dollars by the millions. If it doesn't show a mintmark - its from Philly!

CARSON CITY.... Evokes images of the Wild West, gambling in mining districts, and more....part of American tradition and drama....and quite true. Many collectors focus on and enjoy these "CC" dollars .... many of which are available in sparkling, lustrous Mint States - Like new!

SAN FRANCISCO..... A new, impressive building, made of granite opened in 1974. It was the only structure in the district that remained intact after the April 1906 earthquake and fire. Although this mint struck millions of Morgan Dollars, most were very carefully made with excellent sharpness and detail.

NEW ORLEANS..... Way down south in Dixie, close to the levee on the Mississippi, coinage techniques here were a bit different. Minting was done in haste with less precise workmanship...resulting in weaker strikes, especially on the center of coins.

DENVER …..Only the 1921-D Morgan Dollar, with a very small D mintmark, was struck at Denver.
Designed by George T. Morgan, the obverse features a left facing portrait of Liberty (posed for by Philadelphia school teacher, Anna Willess Williams), with a Phrygian cap, a wreath a wheat and cotton leaves, full flowing hair. Above the head is the legend E. PLURIBUS UNUM, the circle being completed by 13 stars, and the year of mintage at bottom.
